This week sees the 100^th anniversary of the American civil organisation the National Association for the Advancement of Coloured People or as most people have come to know it the NAACP. Looking back, heres a few sentences and a poignant video to celebrate 100 years of the NAACP.

The organisation has started out with the mission statement "to ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate racial hatred and racial discrimination" and they have come a long way in success of this goal.

The NAACP used a legal and legislative manor to forward their agenda and probably their most important court victory was at the Supreme Court in the case Brown Vs Board of Education, I think this video found on YouTube epitomises the significance of their work.
