The Geography of the Russian Empire 1795-1914
Friday, September 11, 2009 at 5:25PM Getting your head around the Russian Empire can be a hard thing to grasp, so many countries one minute there in the next there out. Anyway using the internet I have managed to compile a list of some useful maps to take a look at, hopefully it will give you a more comprehensive overview of what the Empire looked like. Take a good look at #2, it has some really useful information.
#1 First here is the Russian Empire in 1866 (World Flat map)
#2 Now this is the more comprehensive one, it contains so much information with the dates land was acquired, sold it's colour coded, annotated the works. It’s a must look, for anyone studying the Russian empire. Unfortunately it has a copyright on it so I can’t display on the site but here is the link.
